The 227 was produced in WWII for use as a ring oscillator. It was rated at 100 watts and has a mu of 31. The first example was made by Eimac and the second by H&K. It is similar to the VT-127 except that its filament is 10.5 volts and has a higher mu. It was replaced by the 227A.
