He was the 2nd child of John and Grace (Brookin) Lang. Born at Portsmouth, N.H. about 1698. Married July 7, 1721 Susanna dau. Of John (Henry) and Sarah (Jones) Savage.
He was a fisherman and farmer and lived at Portsmouth N.H. where he was first taxed in 1723 (town records) died 1759 leaving a will dated Apr 5, 1759 proved Aug 29, 1759. Administration on the estate of his widow Susanna was granted Oct 19, 1784 to her son Mark Lang.
William is doubtless the William Lang living 1732-3 at the "Plains" who petitioned for a separate parish there. Their children were born at Portsmouth and are all mentioned in his will except the 2nd and 7th as was his wife Susanna and his grandchildren, John, Rachel and Lucia Rand.
