6949

The 6949 is a 400,000 watt dissipation power beam triode with a mu of 60 made by RCA. It has a full power rating up to 75 mHz. Designed for an output of 500,000 watts. The anode, grid and filament are water cooled. The anode requires 88 gallons per minute at maximum dissipation. Used in high power military transmitters including the AN/FRT-32, AN/FRT-33 and the RCA BTH-250A AM broadcast transmitter.
